Yak-52

Post by Neil Willis »

Has anyone else invested in this capable little trainer?

I can finally fly a simulation I have had a bit of stick time in. And it is a very sturdy, and aerobatic plane. Loving this one.

Just got it. It seems good fun to fly, and does most aeros very nicely. Just need to sort out the controls, and do something about those nasty brakes.

The brakes definitely need analogue control. The Virpil joystick I invested in is ideal for that.

I must say, the realism in DCS World knows no bounds. Some Yak 52 pics. This one is a bit unusual in that it has wingtip tanks. They reduce the aerobatic performance drastically, but they were much easier to fly back from Russia with the extra range. Most they imported didn't have them. As you can see in the pictures, this one also had a GPS system fitted, along with landing lights and other goodies.

The aerial pic was taken over Blithfield reservoir in Staffordshire.
