Op Portcullis
Op Portcullis
I am happy to do that, and to set up a sand-box (appropriate considering the local terrain) on my Server, for general sqn training. I will also prepare a familiarisation sortie and a few missions for practice. I have attached a simple map of the area.
Let me know if you want me to do that.

Re: Op Portcullis
Yes if you could please, Alan, thank you for offering. I feel you are better qualified for doing this sort of thing.
Thank you for volunteering.
Paul.

Re: Op Portcullis
I hope to run a Portcullis training night on my server, this Thursday. Brief at 1930.
We will look at our MOB (Main Operating Base) and a couple of suitable diversion airfields. This will be in the form of a Sector Recce (Local Look-around), using tactical formations, with some basic weapon training if there is time. I would like to look at operating the flight as 2 pairs, with each pair comprising a 'shooter' and a 'looker', and using smoke. Visibility will be a problem, so we should also spend some time setting up our TGPs.
Take a look at the map at the start of this thread (sorry about the double-tap. It shows a couple of routes operating out of our MOB, and transiting to the 2 probable areas for some road and line searches. I will try and put this map on my server, for a couple of hours each evening, for people to try it out. However, I am getting a hell of a lot of drop-outs from the Net at the moment, so fingers crossed.

Sorry, should have said. I think Al Ain and Al Minhad look our best bets for diversions, so we should take a look at them also.

FOR ATTENTION OF SQN CDR
Paul, I have drawn up a preliminary brief along the lines requested by Roon. A copy is attached.
I am having some difficulty identifying airfield frequencies and TAPs for Persian Gulf airfields. I am sure they must be there but I have not located them yet.
I am also not sure I can include more about Tactics, and Search patterns until we know the task in more detail. However, I would suggests that each Flt flies as two interacting Pairs - basically each pair has a "shooter" and a "Watcher".
If you are happy with this, I suggest we send it to Roon.
