Sorry, Paul, I am not available on Tuesday 19th Oct.

I would recommend:

Leaving the Mavs behind, and swop sides for the TGP and M-151 pod.

Adjust the run in from WP 5 directly to WP9 (by-passing WP 6,7,8)

Ensure at least 1 nm between aircraft at WP 5 and pull up after leaving WP 5 to ~2000 ft agl.

Pick up the 3 convoys as you approach WP 9. (they will be on road between WP 7 and 8)

Each ac, lock Laser onto the Tunguska in the appropriate convoy, and turn in when locked on.

Fire from about 5nm and then turn 180 degrees to the left, by 2-3 nm from the Tunguska.

Once all Tunguskas are dead, continue attacking individual convoys from the south, using APKWs or Guns.

Without any ground fire it may be quicker to use rockets, without laser, from 1-2 nm from each truck.

Good Luck!

Paul I have had a quick look at a route, which is attached.

I have changed the TGP location and removed the Mavs (I have added a couple of CBU-103s but they wouldn't be my first choice).

I have moved the IP to about 5-9 nm SE of the estimated convoy position, and put in a pop-up point about 12-15 nm rom the targets. The plan is to pop-up to around 2000 ft agl, and look for the convoys which should be in your 11 o.'clock. As before the Lead will take the first, No 2 the second and No 3 the third. Each will turn in when they have their Tunguska locked, and fire from around 6-5 n, turning out right by 180-200 degrees after impact. I would be inclined to fire 3-4 APKWs at the Tunguska.

With the Tunguskas dead, I would use unguided rockets and guns for the trucks - you can get nice and close since there will be no return fire. This should enable you to take them all out out quite quickly and scuttle home before the bad guys come looking for you. As I say, I would not use clusters unless you have to quit early and want to shorten things. I cannot recall off-hand the spread figures for a drop at 2000 ft agl.

I will try and fly this mission this w/e just to check.

Paul - minor changes to the last version. It runs OK, so far as I can tell.

If you are happy, forward it to Andrew.

I am still not available for Tuesday but will get a brief put together later today.

Paul, Alan,
Just seen your post above, as I posted mine. I'm happy to fly as a singleton.

Alan, if only me, don't worry about a brief. I've been following the board. Also, I would like the number of shilka's reduced to a single, rather than spending my time trying to knock out 3.

Geoff, the A-10C element of the mission is attached. It will need to go to Andrew for incorporation.

Also attached is a brief that I had prepared.

Good Luck. I don't know if Richard or anyone else is planning to fly with you.

Let me know how it goes.

Alan,
Both brief and miz downloaded. Excellent brief. Just a few corrections needed. I can see shilkas, not tunguskas. The loadouts are 14, not 7 MK151s, and the MAVs are missing.

I'll fly the miz later tonight, and then send the miz over to Andrew. Are you OK with me changing the loadouts to match your brief, before onward transmission to Andrew?

I think I'll transit to the TGT area at 200ft agl, and pull up to 2000ft agl at the named WP.
