I have attached my proposal for the mission next week. Sorry it was late, but I had to get the cloud base lifted, before it was even possible to fly it. Even so, as it is I still forecast blue casualties!
There are 2 flts of 2 X A-10s. They T/O together, but the lead pair cuts a corner to take out the known Shilka, in advance. All the targets are at the bottom of a very deep valley, with cloud above, and the many bends and trees, make finding and positioning for targets quite difficult. Each ac has a pair of Mavs, primarily for getting a decent stand-off to take out any Shilkas. Other wpns are LG Rockets and LGBs, and probably guns. I suspect we will need to use a Mav or a GBU to stop each convoy, and then LG Rockets and /or guns to finish them off.
If anyone has any observations, please let me have them asap. I need to get the plan to Andrew by COP tomorrow, and I am a bit busy this weekend.

Some minor WP and Timing errors. These will be corrected and do not affect overall plan.
I will do the final update tomorrow, once I have seen any comments.

Re: Op BoctTok
Have flown twice now Alan and this seems fine. Could do with less cloud obviously but that's not our call.

Re: Op BoctTok
Thanks Richard. Originally the base was around 8,000 ft.
I will get it off to Andrew this evening. It is beginning to look like we may be the only takers for the A-10!

Re: Op BoctTok
May not be so easy with just two. Have to make sure we don't stray too far north and hope for some holes in the cloud too

An Initial Brief for this evening is attached.
We should have a good 30 minutes before we need to start engines, to discuss any finer points.
