All,
Here is the miz for Tuesday.
TARGET RANGE GEOFF01.miz
(260.88 KiB) Downloaded 68 times
I've allowed for 8 aircraft. You have the full F10 range script options available giving bomb and gun scores. The only mod required is the standard RAFAIR one from Chris.

Feel free to give it a test. Remember you jump into "game commander" or "JTAC Operator" first, and wait for the "Range Script" message to appear. Then change to your selected aircraft. Before start-up, check the comms menu to see if F10 is available for the range.

Paul, I may have comments on the miz. Please hold off adding the miz to the RAFAIR server, until any changes required, are made. Thanks.

I hope to put a short video together, later today, giving you a better understanding of the ranges.

Here is a video link that demonstrates the 2 ranges and laydown patterns, and the F10 scoreboard. It's 1080p & 25mins long.

https://youtu.be/k84m6AMc1OQ

Hope it gives you an idea of the patterns. As Paul stated, it may appear complex. Hope all comes a little clearer after the video. The idea behind the clip, is to give pilots who haven't flown it before, a better understand of the techniques.

Apologies for the strafe pit pattern. I lost my gun reticule, and was late seeing the gun cross.

Hi Geoff,
I believe that's my welcoming back mission? A bit challenging after haven't touched stick for 2 years...
Of course i will be the last scorewise but for sure will be a nice practice.
I have 2-3 questions but i think they will be covered during briefing before flight, so will not bother you now.
Thanks again for putting everything together.
Just a request: if someone can log in at some point during weekend to test/check SRS, TS3 and comms setup(key bindings etc) to avoid surprises during the mission would be awesome.
Please let me know.

Facon,
Two years. That's gone quick.
I can help after 1400hrs Saturday, or Sunday. Any idea what time you will be on TS?
I had issues with my SRS last Tuesday. Would be good to test on one of our servers over the week-end.
If you have time, maybe you can do a test flight and try out the ranges.

Hi Geoff,
14:00 UTC Saturday sounds perfect for me. I have certainly time to give it a go on any server and remember the good old times.
Thanks a lot again!

Hi guy's, I will try and get on for 14:00, give SRS a go, my SRS setup as been stable for weeks. If my crappy Internet connection will keep me connected( seems to have been ok the past couple of weeks). Hopefully very close to getting a fibre connection.

All, I've had to make several changes to the brief. I'll cover them Tuesday. The most important change, which you need to know now, is to the Suli MK82 bombing pattern. Have a look at the attached image for the latest version.
Now, instead of climbing to 8000ft, we will level out at 6000ft. During testing, it was a challenge to reach 8K.
Pattern speed is now 200KIAS, and not 90%.

All,
I've now finalised the miz, and brief. See below.

Paul, if possible, could you add it one of our servers, so we can use SRS. I still haven't figured out how to Port Forward correctly.

I've made several changes to the brief.
Guns, MK82's, & MK82 Air's Training.pdf
(2.59 MiB) Downloaded 72 times
Changes include:-
1. Two extra WPs added, giving us a chance to reach our hold heights for the strafe pit.
2. Hold heights have been changed.
3. Fuel reduced to 60%.
4. All changes shown in red.
5. New slides shown with a red title.

I believe this could be testing, especially with tight range circuits, and having to join up 3 times.

If we have 6 pilots, I will stay in the circuits and complete the required number of passes.

With 7 pilots, I will lead all range attacks, but just drop 1*Mk82, and fire my cannon once, and move to the next holding point, whilst you all remain the the ranges.

Hold heights and ranges patterns will be a real test for 8 pilots. With 8, we will split into two flights of four. One flight will start on the MK82 range, with the other beginning on the Strafe pit.
