Sorry, in my last post, I referred to the soft-target APKW as a 131, that should have read 151.

Hi Geoff,
i had a look on the mission as well.
First of all many thanks for the planning and your effort.
My 2 cents:
- maybe instead of 8000ft we could fly 7500ft because of the celling(but this is easy on the fly to be arranged).
- the lineup point before landing is at 1000ft height? A bit too low considering the distance to the airport...? Probably is me though, not used to fly so low, other than the pattern...
- for the ConA doesn't seem to exist a calculated time WP,(probably you will explain at the briefing, so don't bother now maybe)
Thanks again!

Flyco,
All rockets should be laser guided. I agree with 282's instead off the HE 151s. Re-arm as you wish.
If we have an extra jockey, we can either revert to plan "A", or No 5 can sit in Boar 2-3 that's Boar 5, laser code 1658, IP South, and ConE. We can decide on the night.
Falcon,
We descend to 1500ft at 15nm, and 1000ft, at 10nm. I can change that to 1000ft at 5nm. My idea is that I wanted all of us to be in a stable, close echelon left position, so the run & brake looks good from the ground. Descending from 1500 to 1000 at 5nm, gives us little time to be in formation.
You don't have a timed WP for ConA. It will be stationary before we arrive at 0812hrs. If we arrived any earlier, then all convoys would be on the move. That would make target location a challenge from 8000ft. I said 8000ft, because I wanted max separation from the ZSUs.

I have attacked the 4 ZSUs. My conclusions are:-
1. Mav H is better than Mav D for target acquisition. I will be re-arming with 6*Mav H's, 2*CBU105, 1*CBU97, and 42 laser M282s.
2. My IP to target is too closely aligned with the convoy track. Good for cannon, but more difficult trying to lock the Mav. I will jink right for a few miles, and turn back, giving a more acute angle of attack to help with target ident and lock.

All,
Now we have 5 pilots, and I've made an executive decision. We will go with my quote from above. So, Plan "C".

Richard,
Welcome aboard. You will be Boar Flt 2, In flight, Boar 5, ATC Boar 2-3, IP South, ConE-WP13, Tail No 023, and laser code 1658. No ZSU target for you.
I was going to revert to plan"A", but ConC is easier from IP South. Trees are a challenge from IP North

I did some runs against the T-80s today. The APKWs are really only effective if you can attack it from the rear and fire 3-4 rockets in quick succession. We should have enough to firepower to deal with the majority of the targets, but try and use a Mav, a GBU or a CBU on those buggers.

Hi guy's, yes I will still fly tonight, but be aware due to BT F****** me about again with my internet, the stupid B******* have cut the signal to the wireless mini hub they sent for me to use, so I am having to connect to the net using the modem in the living room which is still on the copper-line, thus I am on a greatly reduced bandwidth, because of this SRS or Voiceattack will not start. So I will be without these comms programs tonight. Luckily TS still works ok.

Why they cut me off a week before my broadband goes live is beyond my comprehension.

Till later

Paul.

Paul,
Typical. I lost my SRS a couple of weeks ago when I was leading the flight. It was a challenge for me. I had to solve it with only TS, and overworking Richard, passing messages from me to Overlord.

We will cope with TS and SRS 128.3, as A10C common.
