Op Persian Storm One - 29 Mar 22

Post by 309 Geoff »

Paul has asked me to lead this mission. Please add your name to the flight line, if you are available.

It's a night flight again. Take off from Dubai Intl, attacking our primary target of Qeshm A'field, and 4*F4's and 3*Mi-8's.

Qeshm is well protected with 4*SA6, 3*SA15, 2*Shilka, and 5*ZSU. The SA6 will be destroyed by Shadow(F-117s), before we arrive.

En-route to the Tgt area, I plan to split into 2 flights, and destroy the remaining 10 air defence units, before going to work on the airfield.

Help,
Just put a post up on the main forum for this mission. My post is timed at 21:29hrs. I am having problems destroying the SA-15.

Have a look at this test miz:-
Air 97Sqn Operation Persian Storm Intel.miz
(66.64 KiB) Downloaded 64 times
Start at 8000ft, 16nm from the Sa15. It's at WP1. You have 3*MavH & 3*MavD. The Sa-6 has been removed. I've tested it several times, firing a salvo of 3MavH, and t3*MavD. Each time, all 3 Mavs are destroyed by the Sa-15. I don't have enough time to fire 4. I've lowered the Sa-15 skill level to "average".

It would be appreciated if you could test the miz, and check if you are able to destroy the Sa-15.

Thanks in anticipation.

I can have a bash tomorrow evening Geoff.

One poss way may be for two a10s to go into the sa15 with maybe 60 degree apart and release two 65Ds at same time. May be difficult for it to take them out if wide apart

You have to salvo your mavs(Mav-D), if you can launch one at about 8nm,as soon as your second mav is up, lock him up and launch within about a second or to of the first one. From my experience the SA-15 might shoot the first one down but its very rare he can get the second one. So long as you didn't take to long to launch that second missile after the first.

Hi Geoff,
as Paul said i launched 1 MAV-D as a decoy and right after i launched the second one.
The Tor was able to hit the first one but didn't have time to react on the second.
