Mission sent off to Duke. Only minor changes in routes, hts and timings. Plus option for No 3 to hop across and give the RW a hand.
I will produce a detailed brief in a day or so.
If Paul wants to go play with the rotor-heads it would be best for him to take the No3 slot, and then he can slide off once he's taken out his 6-7 targets. I can take the No 1 slot, unless by Richard wants to.

Yep, I'll take No.3 then, if those poor Apaches need a hand, I can try and give them some.

OK, thanks Richard (I think!). I have flown 2-3 practice missions against these targets, and they are very, very good. I have always been shot down eventually - but always because I didn't stick to the rules I set.
It should, I hope, be easier with 3 ac (and if you stick to the guidelines). I will prepare a brief, by Monday, I hope.
I haven't seen any Red fighters yet, but that may be because they are triggered by Blue interceptors - of which there were none when I flew just our role.
In the meantime, give it a try. It's only 25 mins from T/O to the target area - I still haven't found out how long it takes to get back home!

I have attached the brief for Tuesday's mission. It is a bit involved, but should, I hope, be understandable; particularly if the second page is read with the mission map in front of you.
Please let me have any questions or suggestions for improvement. For some reason the Pontiac callsign was not transferred from my input to the final mission.

Hi guys,
Have just flown the mission as Pontiac 1-2 and all seems fairly straight forward. Cloud cover was a slight issue until I got quite close but opened up in end
Like you Alan I got shot down after trying to be too cute, but I don't think that will be a problem on Tues as most threat stuff will be taken out on our first run in.
Good plan Alan.

Hi All
the Apache contingent is down to 1, however the good news is that it is me!!
If you flying 'Cafe's' need a hand just wind up the old 2 way and give me a call. If I need a hand I will call Fellow RW and regular CP/G Paul.
See you all later.

We should be able to help - we are “Loaded for Barr’ as they say in all the old westerns.
Seriously, we are likely to have GBU and CBU remaining, plus some guided rockets. Other than climbing to 20,000 ft plus (which I don’t fancy with red fighters around), we will probably have to use the rockets to knock out the nasties. I am not sure what you carry, but if you can hit the longer range stuff first that will help.

I will also be loaded for “Barr” with 16 Helfire which have a 8km range. After that it’s all about the canon
