OK Paul, I'll take a look.

At first sight, there are 2 Tor with the convoy. As you may recall these can shoot up to 20,000 ft and they have a reasonable capability against Maverick (and against A-10s!). Thus thus choice is come in at 22K and knock them out with GBUs, or fire 2-3 Mavs in quick time from outside their range and hope one gets through. I will look at both options, but do you have any preferences?

I will try and prepare a mission for each option and let people try them out next week. A first run suggests that these targets do not stop when one is hit - which makes it all a bit more difficult.

Yep, I've found that if you fire 2 mavs in pretty quick succession, the first one tends to get shot down but the 2nd gets through to kill the Tor. But I'll let you experiment.

Paul.

Paul, it looks as though I am not going to be able to do this mission. I am not sure whether it is my set-up that is faulty or whether there is a problem with the mission, but I am unable to amend, save and then fly the mission as published. I have asked in the original post, providing the mission, and am awaiting a response.

Can you ask someone else able to try it and let me know whether they are experiencing similar problems.

I think the problem is that DCS now seems reluctant to let me plot WPs directly on the map. If I try, a separate WP table appears; unfortunately, this table will often not accept changes to the WP No or Name - or, if it does, there are errors in it.

Does anyone know, how I banish this table, and continue to move my WPs, using the mouse cursor directly on the map, when I want to amend them. I will have to scour the Manual for more info, but I have been writing missions for about 7 years without ever coming across this before. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

I think I have got together a working mission. It is attached - please try it out and let me have any comments.

There are up to 4 A-10C2s, and the target is an armoured convoy, about 25 mins flying to the East. This includes 2 Tunguska, which it is planned to attack first with multiple Mavericks. There are also 2 Shilka, which will be the second priority, followed by the mobile artillery and Tanks. In addition to the Mavericks, we are carrying GBU-12s and CBU-108s.

Transit is med/low level, at a nominal height of 2000 ft amsl, climbing to around 5000 ft as we approach the target area.

I have had some problems with the Mission Editor, so I would be grateful if someone could try a test run and let me know how it goes. I will publish a brief by Friday.

Paul, sorry about the last mission. I am re-doing and simplifying it, and it should be with you tomorrow.
