Night time and tanker

Post by 0405 Andrew »

Hi All,

I seem to be having problems contacting the Shell tanker on the public server. Has anyone else had issues. Tacan is working fine but I'm not getting an intent to refuel call back on the radio.

I also seem to be mainly flying at night, some of the taxi ways are illuminated but the runway isn't. Does anyone else have this?

I've been flying the A-10C and huey.

Cheers Andrew

I had the same problem, but, when I ran the mission in SP the tankers worked fine. I was in an F16 and as it’s still buggy I put it down to that.

The server had been running for 5 hours when I had the issue, how about you?

Maybe it’s a bug within DCS if the mission runs a long time?

Yes I did Friday in an A-10C, contacted Arco and requested Approach for refuel, they answered correctly, I rendezvoused with tanker but when I called ready Pre-Contact, he didn't respond correctly, no matter how close I got to him, he just would respond correctly to my Pre-Contact call, and would not lower the boom. I gave up in the end and RTB'd.

Just did an AAR flight, and Shell responded correctly. hooked up took on a full transfer(approx 7000lb), then RTB.

All good with the tanker now, however that was during the day, I did also fly yesterday afternoon and I was about to join up with it and then it landed.

I know that recently there have been issues with STN not putting the deck lights on at night until you call on with the radio commands instead of voice, is this the same thing you are seeing at the land base? Taxiways permanently lit, but no runway lights unless you call inbound at the initial or intent to depart?
