SRS Update as of 5th May

Post by Alien »

Its probably in hand but I thought Id mention it.
I tried to connect to SRS on server 1 earlier today and a msg informed me that my latest update for SRS 1.8.0.2 was not compatible with the server which was / is running 1.7.8.1
will it be updated or do I need to roll back ?

regards

The SRS server has been rolled back to the last viable version because of a known bug that makes connection unstable.

It is easy to roll back until a patch is released.

Neil, which is the 'last viable version'. I am afraid I tend to dump earlier downloads to safe space.

I cannot get into the server to check.

It's still saying the server is using 1.7.8.1 as of 14.53 today.

1.7.8.1 is the one to use. There is a 1.8.0.0 - that is the bugged version. So if you have that, roll back to 1.7.8.1 please.

I have 1.8.0.2. If I can, I will see if I can download 1.7.8.1.

I have not had any issue's with SRS 1.8.0.2. Has been running fine for me in fact for all our Squadron. Strange it's not for you guys. :?

Have rolled back anyway. Will you let us know when you have got your issue sorted so we can go back to the latest version.

Just as a matter of interest, are those who are experiencing trouble with the latest version of SRS using Voice Attack. There is a mention in the SRS topic on ED forums about this problem - together with a suggestion for curing it. See post 2755 in the SRS topic.

SRS 1.8.0.2 appears stable. I think most issues were in 1.8.0.1 for a short period.

It is being used by many very busy MP servers and at least in CB's Discord no major issues are about.

As an aside this versions now supports MIDS A & B channels for the Harrier which I would be keen to test.

Is it possible to upgrade the servers please... makes it a lot easier to jump around the DCS world :)
Kind Regards
Chris :)
