I'm definitely looking forward to the appearance of this one too. It looks like a great adversary for the MiG-21Bis. And historically, they did meet, and often too.

Well this one is a ground pounder so its not going to be able to compete really against the mig but it certainly will be trying to evade it.

I dunno, If you go with 6 heaters (or 4 heaters and two AKAN (gun-pods)) the limited A-A mode of the AJS radar might give the MIG21 a good run for it's money.
They are both heavily dependent on GCI in the intercept role.
Thou I suspect the RM8A engine does not like yank and bank in high-alpha, resulting in "blow-backs" or whatever it's called.
That said, the 21's engine is not the most stable either.
Question is who run's out of energy first? and when they do, does the Viggens canards help enough with low-speed maneuvering to compensate for the relative nimbleness of the 21?
