Hi guys, had my first mission last night as a RIO with Scooby last night and it was fun but daunting! Definately need some practice, so if anyone is on during the evenings and willing to do some basic fam flights and easy PVE missions that help me get familiar with the Radar functions and navigation, that would be great.

Just drop me a private message on here or add me on Steam if you have it.

I would also suggest doing the single player training missions for the RIO that come with the module. They are good for getting you up to speed withe the basics.

We will be doing training on Thursday night so you are more than welcome to pop along and jump in the back of someones bird.

I will happily do some Rio training when May comes around I'm way to busy with uni till then. I learnt how to press the buttons from the tutorials and learnt why I should be using each of the radar modes from youtube, the back seat is a damn busy place, its harder in the back than in the front

dont worry Scoob, ive been busy watching all the video's and practising in game over the last 2 days

Pulse = Range detection but weak to ground clutter Short to Med Range, lock on via DDD = STT
Pulse Doppler = Closure but can filter out ground clutter = weakness to notching and closure rates but utilising the Stab in and out, radar aspect and angles and filters can help
RWS = Radar checks on the TID with basic possible range and altidude. Cant hook with the TID
TWS auto [When working] and TWS Manual for Pheonix missiles
IFF check and symbology, check!

Know how to set up a NAV grid now
Manual start up, easy compared to Pilot!
Manual Waypoints editing via the TID and CAP, Check!
Basic TID functionality and preset keyboard functions, check!
Tacan check!
Data Link frequency, TID contols, symbology and using the CAP to identify Friend, Unknown and Hostile, check!
Program CM;s ok!

Need to learn a bit more about F-F Datalink and INS reAllignment
