I wonder if it might not be worth investigating this:

We've tried Aries, and we've tried Univers, both of which have had problems that interfere badly with on-line flying.

Re: SimpleRadio stand alone?
That looks very interesting Neil. I know we had issues last week. Did you get same probs Thursday night?
Will be worth looking at as Univers does seem to be more hit & miss these days

Ye3s Richard, after a full clean install I still couldn't get comms working in exclusive mode. I shall do some more research into the stand alone system and run a few checks online and see how it all pans out.

Re: SimpleRadio stand alone?
Stand alone radio seems to be the simplest option for channelled comms in the cockpit, and installs very simply.
I ran a quick test with Edd yesterday, and couldn't hear his transmissions, but I have now resolved that (I think). To use Stand alone, just run the installer, and then in the settings add the IP address for our server (94.23.28.177) and press connect. Follow the instructions for setting up hot keys, and you are all set.
It runs without the need for Teamspeak, so after mission briefings we can simply log out before joining the server.
I'd appreciate it if everyone ran some tests on the server before we run a trial with it on a live mission night. Once I get feedback, we can make a decision about whether to use it on RAF Air.

Re: SimpleRadio stand alone?
Tried the SRS radio earlier with Edd, but it looks as though it was having trouble staying connected to the server.
Don't know if there is a solution to it or not.
Hoping to be on later tonight, perhaps another test then.
Till later.

Re: SimpleRadio stand alone?
We have suffered a slight setback with the Stand Alone Radio, in that the latest version (updated today) will not run on the server (probably an issue with the operating system - Windows Server 2012). I have posted a request for help on the ED forum, and in the interim, I may be able to run it here on my PC as it does run on Windows 7.
Anyone who wishes to run a trial, please get in touch here, and we can arrange something.

Neil, have you seen the suggestion of an update to .NET 4.6.2. That appears to have solved some problems.

Re: SimpleRadio stand alone?
Yes, it has been updated, and all works correctly now.
Any chance of a quick test sometime soon Alan?
