F/A-18 HOTAS Mappings - TM T16000M

Post by m0wdg »

Evening all,

So had a chat on the TS3 server this evening, and we were discussing HOTAS Mappings and Comms (noting that I have never used Comms in DCS via SRS, so kind of need it mapping!) - I have a TM T16000M.

the big question is... WHERE?!

My Mappings Currently - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DCqRat ... sp=sharing

I am drawn to the Hat on the stick as it leaves my thumb free for any of the 3 hats on the throttle simultaneously, then relegate my trim up/down/left/right to a modifier button plus stick hat.

The theory is that I am losing less controls by tying my stick thumb up for comms (noting that the weapon release is also with said thumb, so when I release a weapon, I drop off comms while i release).

Any thoughts on whether this is a good/bad/indifferent idea?

Alternately, feel free to use the below to show me how you would set up this HOTAS...

Thanks in Advance! looking forward to flying with you guys at some point in the 18!

You will 100% need the hat on the stick for trim. I'd be tempted to use the sensor depress button on the throttle myself with one radio on normal and the other on a modifier with the same button.
