Shaggy looking at the map Alan has published I would suggest setting Maycop as our YY and a total grid of 135 degrees in 6 sectors spanning from Sukhumi to Gelendzhik.
Whats your opinion?

Re: Tuesday 12th
This is my proposed Navgrid for Northern Clout, lined out in white.
The blue dot in sector 1 is our supposed CAP and light blue Enfields CAP however I think we should propose the Green Dot as a better CAP point knowing that the coast is heavy with red aircraft and Enfield are present in Sector 1 in any case.
I suggest setting our Navgrid with Maycop as the YY and a 135° coverage with Kutasi as the border of sector 1. The Navgrid orientation should be the Kutasi bearing from Maycop plus 67.5°, with coverage of 135° and 6 sectors.
Any comments welcome.

I like it FC. Makes total sense to me and gives us a clear picture
Just a couple of thoughts.
6 sectors clogs up the picture, to many lines and makes our CAP area small. It’s highly unlikely that we will get more than 5 planes tonight so I suggest 5 sectors, 2x 2 ship flights and Mutley on his own as he likes it like that. Each pair covers 2 sectors and Mutley has his own sector to monitor.
As Jesters options for Nav Grid are limited. To get the grid set up like in the picture, the Nav heading has to be 225 degrees (true SW).
The heading bearing is the centre of the Arc no mater the size of range ie. Rio can tailor the range and heading to more specific requirements.
Hope that all makes sense.

Makes sense Shaggy, I'm happy either way however just a quick note as to why I like 6 sectors. The more sectors that you have the more resolution you have on the Navgrid for BRA calls and communicating aircraft positions.
That's my thoughts, the mileage may vary.

I’m thinking of the pilots, my TID display is huge and easy to read, their TID display in the pit, not so much!
Essentially as long as we get the YY point correct, heading and range the same, we can play with sectors mid flight.
Top man

Re: Tuesday 12th
I agree with you. Its not massive in the pilot pit. I wish I had a small monitor I could export it to that didn't involve the Wifi tbh. Its a joy to just glance at it rather than try to get a good look on the main screen. The resolution is very good on the TID when not in VR though so the extra lines are no issue for me.
We need to agree on sectors though so we all have the same picture when airbourne.
