new carrier sop for tomcat

Post by john (scooby) »

when spawning on deck DONT touch the wingsweep lever until on the cat, leave the cover up and the manual lever to the rear until you at least pass the blast deflector.
Leaving them overswept might alleviate some of the deck collisions on spawn in

fa18c wingspan 32 ft 7 in (9.94 m) wing folded, 40 ft 4 in (12.3 m) with AIM-9 Sidewinders on wingtip
f14 wingspan 33 ft 3 ½ in (10.15m) (over-swept):
38 ft 2 ½ in (11.65m) (fully swept):
64 ft 1 ½ in (19.55m) (max spread):

hopefully theyre close enough span wise when folded

Standard carrier procedures mate. The cat guy should signal wings out as part of your hook up. All carrier born jets should stay wings folded or swept until the JBD is up.

dont touch it till im told to anyway , the issue is the spawn points and static objects being placed in the spawn points

I do keep them swept but I'm changing it to keep them overswept ie stowage sweep not 68 degrees.
Thewith wings folded on the 18 and overswept on the cat. The tomcat is only 7 inches or so wider. I'm hoping this will reduce the random explosions on deck!

Yes I keep them swept but not overswept usually. Will leave in oversweep from now on.
