Operation Brave Defender ( Concept by Mutley and others )

Post by Mutley »

First i would like to give the concept history etc of this mission / Dynamic Campian .

History of Concept

So not sure how this started but it was back in the heady days of Armagedon , Myself , Phil , Simon and my dear freind Magsey started to have a chat. before long we had a storyline a working concept etc. And i could be wrong but i do belive the orginail notes etc still exsits. oh and this Concept includes the much underused abillily of DCS Warehouse System. (Que Evil Laugh ). As those of us who have served Know Wars conflicts etc dont just happen , there has to be a build up of tensions followed by a incident which then triggers hostiltles. So with this in mind we came up with the following and incorpating the werehouse system were Blue side are low on weps Ammo Airframes Men and all the surport kit and logistics.

Storyline

A pair of F14 s where swaning around one day near the border with the Nasty Reds , the pair Bumbed each other causing one F14 crew to eject and the other F14 to limp back to Mother. Unfournatly the ejected crew drifted across the boarder on their chutes and landed some 4 or 5 miles inside Russian controled Terrority.

The reds took this invasion very serously and dispatched several Motor rifle brigades to locate and capture the downed crew. The crew are safe for now and are bashered up in a small copse surrouned by flat feilds. However unbeknow to the crew they are only 2 miles away from a chain of Sam sites and the reds have a pretty good idea where they are so have set a trap and have moved in sevaral units Mobile 23mm AAA. Along with the afore mentioned Motor rifle brigades and consate over flys and CAP by red air.

Understandably the Allied forces are quite consered for the saftey of their missing air crew not to mention the sudun build up of red forces amassing along the border , However They have a Plan.

Plan

( every Mission to incorperate the following Airframes with limted ordance untill surply lines can be established and more importantly secured. the old millitary adage of make do with what you have to hand )

Huey , A10 , F14 , F18 , F16 , AV88 ( i think thats the correct desingation for the Harriers)

The intail Mission would be to Pinpoint the crew , this would be done with Hueys using RDF from the downed crews Radios . however the hueys soon discover that the crew is being covered by AAA and sam sites and ground troops and pull out whilst calling in the A10s to soften the target , however the A10s have limited ordance so they inturn call in the F18s and F16 who also have limited ordance , of course this first Mission would be covered by CAP / bombcat F14s who also have limited ordance against Red Air and red Ground .

The following missions would be a mixture of escorting essentail surplies from cargo ships to shore and from shore to werehouse/ Airbases. A steady build up of Blue forces along the border with Border skirmishes and the unexpected red pushes into Blue terrority all whilst maintaining and surcuring Surply lines.

Now i know what your all thinking , dude the planning and triggers etc will be a nitemere , well im prettry sure that Phil made and tested the first mission it just never really devoleped from there on as armagedon died and other things happen within RAFAIR

I propose that Operation Brave Defender be given some serous thought , it is very doable i foresee 2 x mission builders not the usal builders but people with time energy and a good working knowagle of mission building ( yes they are out there their just really shy )

I serously belive that given time and comitment and leasing with Phil , Simon , Magsey and dare i say myself it can be done.

That is all Gents read digest think chat with others lets make it happen on wards and up wards.............oh and please no negitive replys coments iam down enough as it is due to varous life stresses.

I thank you all for your time in this matter. :D :D :D

Sounds a great story.
I'm looking forward to a combat rescue like John, but if they give us any crap about how long it took they'll get kicked out again!

Its a great scenario Mutley and I like it. There is still abit of work to do behind the scenes to get some of the fundamental core issues sorted for all new missions moving forward. I think we all just need to have a bit of patience but feel we are all on board with great new ideas like this.

Patience is the key , I also thank you all for getting behid Myself and others with this, And yes i toatally agree there is alot of work to be done with Mission Standardisation and fundamental issues , But again i feel that unless someone starts the ball rolling we will still be sat here in 3 mths saying the same things. Just my feelings from an old tired coming apart at the seams litraty has been . lol   :D
