Yes sometimes when dropping pairs of bombs they can hit each other on release and take out the plane as well.

Or, you can forget to set the wing angle to "bomb", go ahead and CCIP your mk82 and pull up to see your wings fly off.........true story, happened to Shaggy and I last night, there was actual screaming and giggling as we plummeted to a fiery death with no hope of ejecting in time 🤣😂🤣😂

I should mention that when we got a new jet and got back to the range, the intended target was burning good and proper, so at least we hit that before turning in a burning lawn dart!

Anyway, back to lantirn discussion, I have just rewatched spudnocker Lantirn tutorial for the mod, he makes it make more sense than the guy who showed me how to do before, doesn't seem as difficult using his method than the one I was using. I'll practice it later if I can get online tonight.

He uses laser latch once the tti is around 15 seconds, which makes a whole lot more sense to me than what my instructor had me doing by holding down 2 hotas buttons at the same time whilst flying in a circle. Any instance of finger cramp or slip off the trigger meant the bomb went wide.

While I am thinking about this, is there still an altitude ceiling for use, I believe it was 23000ft?

I never laser latch personally. I just half pull at around 15 secs. But theres no reason that you couldn't. I have my lantirn controls on a modifier that latches on so effectively it just changes my whole set up to lantirn mode.

I have succesfully laser bombed with the lantirn from 34000 feet.

Maybe they changed it then, I was sure when it came out the lantirn would spark and eventually fail if you stayed above 23000ft with it turned on, modelled on the real thing not being able to cool properly or something like that iirc.

I wasn't aware I could set the modifier to latch on, which would make life a bit easier again, I will investigate that as well, thanks mate, learning new stuff every day lol.

Just set one of your toggle switches as a modifier and then when its flicked over should feed the modifier key in constantly.
