Helios on Pad

Post by Alien »

FC,
I've got Helios working on the pad albeit no TID yet, however the problem I'm having is getting DCS the right size on screen,
using windows to get the res you suggested is not an option, i have a choice of 2, 1024 x768 or 1920 x 1200, so If i go for the 1920 and then go into DCS it's all over the place and no amount of Alt Tab will centralise it.

It's doing me head in :)

You will have to choose 1024x768 as the 1200 is larger than your main display (I assume you have a 1920x1080 main monitor?)

Also in game in the settings screen you need to change the 1 screen drop down to F14BTID and then the resolution above it to 2944x1080ish (guessing here, its 3200x1080 on mine as I am using 1280x800 on the pad, you may need to use 3200x1080 also)

Also in windows make sure that the pad is positioned to the right top side in the display settings.

TID is working on the pad, I take it I now need to Bind the CMS buttons to keypad in game options ?

Yes but you may already have them mapped to something else. You will have to see. Some of the CMS commands have a modifier and if you don't have that set as a modifier in dcs it wont work, you will need to add it. The other way is to bind the keys on your keyboard and then change the binds in helios to suit your in game bindings, its up to you.

This is how it is in Helios currently.

CAP 1 Numpad 1
CAP 2 Numpad 2
CAP 3 Numpad 3
CAP 4 Numpad 4
CAP 5 Numpad 5
CAP 6 Numpad 6
CAP 7 Numpad 7
CAP 8 Numpad 8
CAP 9 Numpad 9
CAP 0 Numpad 0
CAP Enter Numpad Enter
CAP Clear u
CAP S/W ,
CAP N/E .
Catergory Selector BIT = b
SPL = s
NAV = n
TAC DATA = t
D/L = d
TGT DATA = r
Steerpoint Selector
WP1 Right Control + Numpad 1
WP2 Right Control + Numpad 2
WP3 Right Control + Numpad 3
FP Right Control + Numpad 4
IP Right Control + Numpad 5
HB Right Control + Numpad 6
DP Right Control + Numpad 7
HA Right Control + Numpad 8
ST Right Control + Numpad 9
PTP Right Control + Numpad 0

Waypoint Setting Buttons
WP1 Right Alt + Numpad 1
WP2 Right Alt + Numpad 2
WP3 Right Alt + Numpad 3
FP Right Alt + Numpad 4
IP Right Alt + Numpad 5
HB Right Alt + Numpad 6
DP Right Alt + Numpad 7
HA Right Alt + Numpad 8
ST Right Alt + Numpad 9
PTP Right Alt + Numpad 0

Not as bad as it seems. Its mainly the numberpad mapped with modifiers

I will take you through how to program it in cockpit once you have it working.
