VNAO T-45 GOSHAWK, what a fantastic little aircraft

Post by Chris »

After Rave reviews by Duke and Alex I spent some time in T-45.

Boy! what a fantastic little aircraft - love it. Easy to learn and so responsive... rudders are a must... super carrier friendly for take offs and landing but not ATC compatable yet.

TACAN is good, course line set you up perfect and a nice responsive trim allows good E bracket management.

DO NOT get the impression that this is another DCS trainer a la L39, if you like carrier ops it is a perfect flight and procedural 2 seat trainer for case 1, 2 & 3 recoveries and all other aspects to BFM.

Half a dozen carrier circuits in this and then jumped into the F18 and it was clear to me that personally I had significantly improved E Bracket management and deck landings - yeah, I know, sigh, you are all thinking 'but you are s*** anyway - well maybe, maybe not, but the T-45 is a great tool.

Being that it is free, use will transcend Squadron boundaries / loyalties and for carrier ops a common 'JET PIPE' induction for 11(F) and 892NAS may be of value.

Whatever, thinking of flying with 892NAS get the T-45 and come and join us to see if you are a fit or come just as a friend.... learn the basics of the T-45 and come and fly with us on the carriers... everyone welcome.

892NAS will be using the T-45 as a matter of course for carrier training, the dual seat capability will be invaluable and above everything else, fun for both the trainee and mentor..... It will soon be stock on the server carriers as there are no reported server issues.

Wanna get good and simply love flying, T-45 formation flying team anyone? Shout up if similarly minded.....

No non-stock skins available yet (they are all locked in the model) but a template will be released soon then we can have 892 version of

Yep spent some time in this Chris and its ace. I lobby for it to be added to the required mod pack and stick some on each server to practice with and use at will.

I will be doing some skins for this when the template is available.

I 'think' the liveries are locked into the edm's until they are happy with all external graphics then they intend to release templates...

No they aren't, there is a set of texture files which you can edit but its better to have a layered template.

Try paint.net it opens dds by default.

I use GIMP with a dds plugin to edit them though.
