Good Training Session f18's and F14's...
Operational pairs, off from the Carrier, RV with Tankers at a designated WP en-route then NOE at the coast for some tacical low level flight in battle, bomb the target, and the on the way back hit the second target group with rockets diving down from 5K'. Back to the carrier time permitting for a training hold at 2K over the boat then standard recovery.
Lessons were learnt, 15 knot cross wind over the target meant you had to pay attention to the bomb fall line which of course was offset from the diamond due to the wind.
I think all enjoyed it and with a bit of tweaking will be fit for the training library.
Special mention of F14 skills from John (Shane was called away for a while) as he kept NOE battle threading round the course and both bombs on respective target groups... with mk 1 eyeball not SA in a Tomcat!
