Post by Chris »

26 OCT 21
19:30 BST 18:30z
SQUADRON TRAINING

Bespoke training event designed for the complete Squadron (Wing if 11(F) attend)

Practice and refinement of:-
  • Procedures, communications and flight departures
  • Flight lead / wing / pair dynamics
  • Procedural tanking (specified amount)
  • Airframe AP and NAV functions to reduce pilot workload
  • NOE tactical flying, Dumb Bomb & GPU AUTO and TOSS
  • Unplanned DIVERT and ILS IFR landing
  • CASE 2 carrier recovery
Oh what fun.....

This training is a planned training event but even part time attendance or early leaves is good too! Procedures used are common to both units. To aid miz creation it would be helpful to know if you are likely to make it... Let me know please on 892NAS discord, this post or PM... cheers
Kind Regards
Chris :)

DCS MP gave us issues last night, the training mission worked fine in SP but just locked things in MP.

I worked at it last night changing stuff on the Server and in mission to no avail. Andrew continued early this morning and identified the conflict - there are a clatter of Mi-24P's as targets that are set to Ai and uncontrolled rather than statics... (In the past an uncontrolled Ai damage model when hit was better than a static which on some builds had no damage model and was in effect invincible).... once these are removed the mission ran fine with any weather.

The current version on Server 4 has the Mi-24p swapped out for static Mi8's and it loads on the button and runs fine. Radio Option to restart the mission added as well as a restart by default every 4 hours.

I'll leave it running Server 4 today and tonight and if there is an appetite re-run the mission on Thursday night. There should be no need for a briefing, just assign roles and go....

Kudos to Andrew for pinpointing the objects that bugged it! That's DCS for you... a chain of events often causes grief ha ha
Kind Regards
Chris :)

Dcs, it's a bugger sometimes.
I'm hoping we'll be flying this one next week?

I now don't think I'll make tonight.
My wife has contracted covid, all plans are up in the air at the moment.
However, dinner date with the inlaws for next Tuesday has been cancelled!
