Yep, and get nice and low on approach too. Ideally, 700 ft at the start of a 500 ft/m glide slope, then into a nice low hover. Lower is better than higher I think?

On hitting RP speed to be reduced gradually to around 60 until LZ in sight... formation tightens up allowing door gunners to give best communal protection... enter glide slope at 40, hold LZ spot in the same spot on windscreen until touchdown, progressively slowing countering loss of power as you pass through ETL, keep nose on heading with pedals, come to a 5' hover then put her down.

This link starts a tutorial video at the 'turning onto finals'

Absolutely Neil and I emphasise without any patronisation, that at this stage EVERYONE is doing very well, very well indeed.... I will say that because all are experienced FW pilots some personal progression expectations are unrealistically high... it can be handful to master and sometimes takes a while. Controls used can effect things an awful lot... Pedal type, springs used, collective or for many throttle and some a twist grip... its just a matter of realising that ... and of course crashes will happen all the time and are expected and very beneficial for the banter that follows :D :D ha ha
Kind Regards
Chris :)

Well the slot will be free on Monday because I am away for a week in Wales.

Damned shame you guys struggled with weapons last night. Gutted for you.
