Mission debriefs, points taken from the 4th Jan.

Post by 0405 Andrew »

I find the mission debriefs invaluable for improving our squadron and our mission nights.

Points taken from last night.

Flight leader will be given brief and mission a day or two before by the mission designer. (mission organiser)

Improvement of mission kneeboards. (mission designer)

Clearer pre mission verbal briefing.(mission organiser)

Pilots, check your systems, mods and bindings. (pilots)
(Sorry Yogi, I hadn't mapped my hand over key for the right seat.)

Read briefs. Briefs should be made available on Sunday, pilots to read them prior to meeting on ts (pilots / mission organiser to provide)

I intend to make sure 60 squadron have a fun and interesting mission every Monday, with each one improving on the next, please all help in doing this.

One important aspect for multicrew in the Huey is an effective intercom system.

Can one of our many experts put together a guide to how to set it up so it works consistently, and include a section on how to hand over control from pilot to pilot safely too please?

Overall however, the mission was a great introduction to the region, and as a basis for future sorties in and around Beirut, should pave the way for some excellent sorties to come. Thank you to the mission planners once again for all your work. I know at times it seems a thankless task, but hopefully the debriefs are useful, and not taken as criticism.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and I'm hoping we can make some good missions for this interesting region and period.

Debriefs are an excellent tool. We should all learn something from each one. When Phil accepts he's lost the speed call out's debate we've got somewhere.

The Huey has more controls than the A10?
