Apache

Post by Wee Neal 0414 »

Morning, now that we are starting to consider and learn the aircraft, 60Sqn will use our normal Mondays as training with a confirmatory mission. Say on a 2 to 1 ratio, I think we should start with basic flight and landing procedures, which will include using the Nav systems. We can introduce night flying as we progress. I think if we can all concentrate on these elements ready for tomorrow we can then help each other learn.

After the basics:
A. Weapon systems, incl front as multiplayer
B. Tactical SOP for pairs and Sqn
C. Range time benign and range time feisty.
D. Operational assessments.

Anyway that’s my view as a starter for 10, views welcome?

There is lots of good stuff here: https://man.fas.org/dod-101/sys/ac/ah-64.htm

I will draw up a training programme over the next couple of weeks.

The programme for Monday night, as suggested by Filip:

A. cold start-Paul are you happy to run through this element?,
B. Taxiing - I will do this bit
C. t/o & landings - we will need to review best rate of climb at different speeds. Filip can you read up on this please?
D. traffic pattern - Scooby are you able to read up on this please?
E. formation and navigation - I will do this bit

VFR first and then all those IFR before we go to weapons. This way you are sure that the pilots are safe and confident before you proceed to missions striking targets

Comments welcome
