Microsoft flight simulator vr. Any good?

Post by 0405 Andrew »

I've not tried Microsoft fs yet because of the lack of vr. I know some of you have it, is it any good in vr?

I had pretty poor frame rates with the HP Reverb G1, but I suspect a bit of tuning will resolve that.

Looks good otherwise.

I have just bought MSFS. Does anyone still use it? I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and fly around my local area.
I'm just downloading. The whole MS flight sim thing with addons etc looks a little overwhelming. There is absolutely loads of stuff.
Do you use additional stuff? Is there a particular place to go?

Hi
I have it and use it periodically. It improves a lot with each update. I have pretty good smoothness, but takes awhile to balance. I am not a real pilot as you know but the find the FM’s a bit…….meh. In summary from my perspective it’s ok, just!

My son flies it, but he is into procedural airliner-type flying.

An alternative for the 'slower' among us is Rise of Flight. (Camels, SE5s, Fokkers etc).

That said I have not flown MS Flt Sim or Rise of Flt for many years.

Finally after downloading msfs, all I can say is flying over my house wasn't great, for all our moaning DCS looks pretty cool, even if it doesn't have my house in it.

Hi,
Try this video https://youtu.be/6RoyHy-FJcg

I found this made a big difference in smoothness and quality.
