Fuck cancer!

Post by john (scooby) »

I wasnt sure whether to make this hread or not but here goes.
My dad is getting married in a couple of weks to a genuinely lovely woman (been together over 20 years). A few years ago she got cancer and has been fighting a running battle ever since, loads of ops, loads of bits chopped out plus chemo, several all clears and all that good stuff!
My sister did a white collar boxing match for cancer research uk and i followed her and did a couple aswell (we stopped our opponets in all 3 fights) .
Recently ive been thinking about doing another and now im deffinately doing it because a few days ago suz was rushed into hospital with a suspected stroke (lost her speech among other things).
Several tests later it turns out she has a brain tumour! Shes now at home and i dont really know whats goin on but im dreading the next week or so!
Im gonna setup a fundraising page for donations to cancer research which is part of the white collar setup.
Cancer needs to go away its a horrible affliction!

My heart and best wishes go out to you and your loved ones. Its not an easy time. I lost my father 21 years ago this month to a brain tumour which was never picked up until it haemoraged.

With luck, medical care and positive thoughts we can all help them pull through.

Sincere best wishes. I hope you are all well prepared to deal with whatever the future holds, and you are getting the right support?

I know from personal experience that it is never easy to cope with times like these. Organisations like Macmillan nurses are indispensable. And yeah, fuck cancer!

Sorry to hear this news, John. Supporting you & your family with thoughts & prayers. Many of us here know what you're going through as cancer is no respecter of family, friends, or even some us individually.
