Spitfire XIX Squadron Training SUNDAY 10JAN22 1930UK
Please ensure you are set up correctly for SRS and the operation of the installed radio set. This is a simple piece of kit with 4 channels. I have set them for 119.1 (ATC Tangmere) 40, 41 & 42.
Additionally SRS expansion is configured on the SRS server which gives us 2 additional pseudo radios for convenience of training.
Radio 1: Cockpit installed ARI 1063 configured 119.1, 40, 41 & 42
Radio 2: SRS pseudo AN/ATC 186 configured 124.8
Radio 3: SRS pseudo An/ARC 164 configured 251.00
I would recommend setting 25% on both pitch and roll axis for tonight's training and reduce to preference later. If you use a axis for elevator trim set that too around 25%
After a few warmup patterns we will be concentrating on pair flying AT A CONSTANT altitude initially echelon right then battle whilst simultaneously scanning for other aircraft and engaging.
Hopefully see you later....

Something we need to determine that works in DCS.. viz is a problem, with no AP nor easy to read large scale heading gauge found at 1 mile impossible to maintain, impossible to pick up on leads changes in time.... initial thoughts are 3-400 yards just enough to pick up enemy on others 6... we will see.... I find viz always a problem...

yeh the distance can float, it doesnt need to be anytrhing like exact, close enough to see eachother clearly but far enough to have good viz on your wingmans 6. being line abreast is far more important than rangeChris wrote: ↑10 Jan 2021, 15:39 Something we need to determine that works in DCS.. viz is a problem, with no AP nor easy to read large scale heading gauge found at 1 mile impossible to maintain, impossible to pick up on leads changes in time.... initial thoughts are 3-400 yards just enough to pick up enemy on others 6... we will see.... Chris,
Really enjoyed last night. Thanks for letting me take part, with my P-51D. I see your training regime producing a very professional and competent Squadron.
For once, I've done something right. I joined the training as it started. Onwards and Upwards.
