My Sagging Seat

Post by Flyco »

No, not that sagging seat, the one in the Spitfire!

I like to fly with my seat as high as it will go with the canopy closed. I adjust it at start up, but during the flight it generally drifts down to the mid position. Anyone else find this, and/or knows of a way to cure it?

It was fairly common in real life to land the Spitfire with the canopy open, both to get a better view in the circuit and to get out in a hurry if you screwed up on landing and it burnt!

Generally only have the issue in sustained high turn rate fighting with enemy fighters. I have to keep "centre-ing" view then looking back up at my enemy. Doesn't seem to galen in vr however, just 2d with track ir

No issues here.

My understanding is that for both take off and landing, the canopy should be open to make a quick escape possible.
