Mosquito

Post by Neil Willis »

Just pre-ordered mine. Will there be many other takers?

I see anti shipping strikes, gestapo HQ raids, low level bombing and of course, multi-role strikes deep into enemy territory in our futures…

Still not sure. As my personal tempus is fudgiting quite quickly, I am not sure I can cope with a new aircraft, even a Mossie.

Mine is on pre-order and 633 Squadron is playing in the background. Are we going to form a Mosquito squadron to organise things? I don't mind doing the grunt work while flying with my main unit?

We already have 19sqn which is essentially an "allied" ww2 airframe squadron. Started as just Spitfire but has expanded to P51, P47 and soon Mosquito 😀

19 SQN : Interest in the other warbirds is very hap hazard to say the least and of late only 3 regularly engage. Warbirds generally are secondary airframes within RAFAir and lack of comforts such as Autopilots, narrow undercarriages and torque difficulties are all in the mix and that's before getting to the vagaries of WW2 ai which is bad bad bad
a lol...... often airframes are switched some, spits, jugs and mustangs and then some fly Red too so very much a bag of sports mixtures.

19SQN is just a container with no roles etc established - it never grew and is a weekly meeting banner flag... If you reckon there's an mossie interest strong enough to mould something in a formal sense, go for it Simon... would be my view ... :)

Ideally in a perfect world it would be nice to have a competent flight for each of the allied birds...
Kind Regards
Chris :)
