The sortie will be an anti-shipping strike against a brace of Russian destroyers.

Can you please report in if you will be attending?

Hi guys
I've got some hardcore work commitments today. Hoping to get it sorted in time to join the flight. Can I let you know ~6:30? I should have a better sense if I can make it by then.
Thanks
Elie

Good mission everyone. I will investigate the Super Carrier issue, and hopefully we can find a method of joining and launching that works soon.

Both targets were quickly overcome and destroyed. It looks like 4 Harpoons will overwhelm the defences of a frigate, as both Jack and myself scored kills when we launched all our missiles together at them. We will look deeper into Harpoon tactics to see which method produces the nest results and gives the ships least opportunity to successfully defend against us.

I note your happiness with the effect of your Harpoons. However, I have looked at Tacview and neither of the 2 targets appeared to have taken any defensive action, either by gun, missile or manoeuvre. As you may have seen all the Harrier and A-10C targets did not show, and those that did took no action against us, even when Richard went down low and slow and waggled his arse at them.

I used Harpoons some months ago against some Russian Cruisers and they blew them out of the sky almost instantly. I think you would do well to get some more data before you hail the Harpoon as a super-weapon.

In fact at least 6 Harpoons were shot down by the frigates. They used missiles to counter them. Why it didn't appear to show that on Tacview I cannot comment on. However, I watched them being taken out in the mission.

A very odd evening all round. You are quite right of course - the frigates did disappear despite no indication that they were hit.

As for the troops that the R/W boys landed - the first thing they did was to shootup and destroy the Russian nuclear bombers - they produced very satisfying explosions albeit not nuclear.

No doubt a major update means Tacview among other things will take a while to catch up.
