Post by Richard Rodgers »

How to join RAF Air UK updated links MODS v2.0.0.
For many, joining a virtual unit can seem daunting but rest assured we will make you most welcome and give you any assistance you need. We are a diverse friendly bunch covering the complete age spectrum pulled from all walks of life, it is a good place. To join us please follow these steps….

(1) Join RAF Air UK
(2) Register with RAF Air UK Forum
(3) On the forum, in the ‘Introduce Yourself’ section, post a new topic telling us a little of yourself – there are plenty of examples there from one liners, to several paragraph stories – we love a good read but just say what you are happy with.
(4) Make contact with an officer of your primary squadron if you have made a choice else contact one of the 2 training squadrons until you know your direction. These guys will guide you around the place, get you settled in and provide access passwords.
(5) You will have access to 4 main DCS servers, In DCS multi Player search for RAF to find them all then make them favorites by clicking the 'star' on the left of each line.

RAF Air UK DCS Servers
  • RAF AIR UK Server 1 - 90.219.198.227:10308
  • RAF AIR UK Server 2 - 90.219.198.227:10309
  • RAF AIR UK Server 3 - 90.219.198.227:10311
  • RAF AIR UK Server 4 - 90.219.198.227:10317
To join these servers, engage in missions and squadron training you will need to install some software and a few MODs. These are (with download links): You may wish, and are encouraged to, install the
OPTIIONAL Rotary Pack if you are going to fly with 60 SQN (Helos)
OvGME is a good utility for installing and removing MODs. All MOD packs are distributed in OvGME compatible zip container which is just drag and drop without extraction. It is not essential, you can do it very easily manually.

If you are experienced with this software great, fire on, but if unsure here are some installation guides. (6) In conjunction with your primary or training squadron join Teamspeak server and a RAF Air UK server and test that everything works as it should.
  • SRS Server 1 - 90.219.198.227:5002
  • SRS Server 2 - 90.219.198.227:5003
  • SRS Server 3 - 90.219.198.227:5004
  • SRS Server 4 - 90.219.198.227:5005
Any required passwords for either Flight or Comms Servers can be found in your Pilot Centre that is visible when logged into the main site.

(7) Have a familiarisation flight arranged by your squadron..
