hey all I edited a quick video together of one of my battle runs in our Challenger 2 main battle tanks, obviously I have blurred the faces of my crew for safety, but its a good video to show the level of speed, accuracy and coordination that goes in to fighting the tank! I hope you enjoy

Bloody good Matt.

Interesting to see that the actual phase of loading the beast hasn't really changed much in the last 70 + years. Accuracy is somewhat better though.

When can we all come down for a go?

Haha thanks Richard!

Yes the loading process has remained unchanged for us brits because of our use of three piece ammunition as the only western main battle tank to use it! which give us the addition if HESH (high explosive squash head) rounds giving us added effectiveness against soft skinned vehicles and targets like artillery batteries....mainly anything that is not fairly heavy armoured.

I would love to show you an engagement from the gunner or commanders primary sights but for obvious reasons I cannot show that, as it's the best way of seeing our hunter killer capability and how me and my crew and engage and kill 4 enemy tanks in as little as 15 seconds (this also requires a very fluid crew cohesion)

We have been knows to get visitors in the turret for a round of so too!

Still ending your lay in depression it seems! Brings back some memories - mostly of egg banjos on the ranges! I bet you don't double everywhere these days?

Quite the opposite actually we train our gunners to end their lay in elevation, as this takes up all the slack in the elevation gears. What your seeing us the gun moving out of 'Load mode' the CHARM L30 120mm will automatically elevate to a predetermined position after firing to aid the loader in getting the weapon subsiquenty loaded when you firing in a full systems state.

But I do agree with a good old egg banjo, and doubling seems squadron dependant.....Well I should say SSM dependant these days!

Didn't understand any of the technical chat. But all that talk of 'laying' and 'eggs' convinces me that 'tankies' are strange 'birds'.
