Paul,
Yes please. If we use Alan^s plan, I would like the opportunity to take out the SA-8 again.

There are going to be some changes to the mission from the last iteration. I am happy to update my plan once the final mission is published. I will set up all our A-10s this time, rather than just the first flight.

A brief for Tuesday's mission is attached. As before we will have four A-10s, operating as two semi-independent Elements, with specifically allocated targets, in the same very small area.
Any questions about the brief should be posted here, and I will try and resolve them.

Re: 31/08/21 Operation Dengizich, the second son, V2(Re-run)
The revised mission is now out. I flew the first 20 mins, without the No2 element! That was a mistake - the SA-8 blew me apart just after I had killed my first target. On the night we will have to ensure that the No2 Element detach from No 1 early and take it out asap, or, if not let the rest of the flight know that it is still alive!
No other changes to the brief published, except our first TOT has gone back by 2 minutes, and we we now have up to 6 x A-10s available.
It is also apparent that the Convoy times and positions are very approximate, as is probably to be expected. So we will have to look up and down the roads to find them, keeping an eye open for the manpads. There is no shortage of targets though.

Brief looks good.
Just jumped into the 2ship on the final check miz. I assumed that was element 2.
I would like to fly element 2 again, giving me a chance to take out the SA-8. Happy to lead element 2, if required.

That would be fine by me Geoff.
Slight change from the main brief. I will call “Fence in”, between WP 2 and 3, and detach the second element as we reach top-of-climb, approaching WP3. Warm up the Mavs shortly after take off. As we approach WP 3 turn left (5-10 degrees), heading directly for the SA-8 (WP6) with 92% set. Both element ac to fire as soon as they get a lock and then break away left. Call as soon as you can confirm the SAM is destroyed.
This is to avoid the first element having to hold off from their target. They will using APKWs and the need to keep a laser lock until impact, with a relatively slow missile, means that they would be in danger of coming within the lethal range of the SA-8. Hence the need to kill it early rather than late.
The TOTs are a little late compared to our scheduled take-off time. We cannot delay take-off, there are Harriers 4-5 minutes behind us. We will therefore accept up to 4-5 minutes early on TOTs.

Have a good one 97.
As Paul is back and 892 are low on numbers I will be flying a Hornet this week. It was great flying with you last week, I really enjoyed it. I hope you will have me back again.
