Welcome to 664 Squadron.
664 SQN is a helicopter unit based on the official British Army Apache squadron, consisting of the AH-64D Apache, Gazelle and the future Kiowa Warrior with the the focus being on:
* Ground Attack
* Ground Defence
* CAS (Close Air Support)
* SAM Suppression
* Recon Tasking
* Laser Designation Tasking
* Escorting
* Low Level joint ops with fixed wing SQN's
Our aim is to to have a semi formal but fun approach to Helicopter warfare.
SQN leader Wee Neal and 2nd IC Simon (Shaggy) will aim to help and develop all members of 664 with the following Modules:
* Flight characteristics
* Sensors and Navigation systems
* Weapons systems usage
* Air defence systems CMWS and ASE
* Pilot and CPG roles
* Communication
* SOP's (Standard Operation Procedures
* Attack and Defence Tactics (Not real world specific)
Through a series of specially created training missions on a variety of maps, we will aim to create an experienced and fun group of pilots that can work together as a team but also confidently integrate into RAF Air Joint ops missions with fixed wing squadrons.

Re: 664 SQN
Hi Duke.
Just to be clear, myself and Neal felt that 60 SQN should remain focused on Troop Transport, Cargo, Logistics, CSAR and Support roles for the Huey and similar Aircraft that fits that description. 664, as in real life represents what we want to do with Attack Helicopters.

Re: 664 SQN
Hi OC / 2i/c 664 Sqn,
I have been training and studying the AH64 since its release, and now can fly, navigate and utilise the weapons both as pilot and coop with George !
I wanted this to be a baseline before I became involved with Multi-player as I didnt want to waste anyone's time.
I have no experience in the mulltiplayer environment and little idea how the comms side works, but I am willing to learn.
Please let me know if there are any 664 sorties, missions or campaigns coming up and I will say hello and get involved.
Best regards - Karl Hughes RAF0638

Re: 664 SQN
Hi Karl welcome aboard to the group and glad to have a new member on board. Myself and Neal are on regularly throughout the week and weekends. Main training as a group is Mondays and Thursdays, we have Joint ops missions with other sqns on Tuesdays when these are organised. We can take it as slowly as you like to get you into multiplayer and we appricate that real life comes first so no one is scolded if you cant make it.Karl1464 wrote: ↑13 Aug 2022, 00:53 Hi OC / 2i/c 664 Sqn,

Hi Karl
when you are free lets arrange to meet on our training map on the servers (normally server 3). We can then have a fly around whilst catting and talk you through and comms etc. We can get these all setup for you. You will need to load some mods onto your PC.

Re: 664 SQN
If you are interested Neal, I have an old mission that could dust-of and modify to include just A-10s and RW (Hueys and AH-64s).
It involves A-10s attacking insurgents while the R/W guys sneak in, knock out the local ground protection, and hi-jack some NBC load (using a very long cable!!). Oh yes, the insurgents are also being re-inforced over the mountains by Red RW, including a couple of gun-ships.
