664 Training sessions

Tonight’s training for 664 will start at 19.30pm to 22.00pm and will be focused on piloting and agility skills.

You can drop in at anytime and don’t have to be on until the end.

The agility course is designed to practice hovering, slow manoeuvring, pop ups, and different landing approaches. Once we are ready to move on from that, we can change onto 664’s training map and practice following waypoints and flying in formation.

Hi Simon,

which voice comms do you use on training nights ?

I have discord and Teamspeak 3 running but no login details for TS3.

Cheers - Karlos.

Yep, very good session last night, I hadn't flown the Apache in about a month, it was good to get acquainted with this airframe again. Also I found it easier to fly using Track-IR than VR this time around.

Thanks, Shaggy.

Paul.

Karl, the commonest comms system is SRS (Simple Radio System). It is actually built into DCS.

Karl

Regarding SRS, if you are unfamiliar with this Comms system it is easy to install here

Thanks for the assistance, and really enjoyed flying with other Apaches for the first time.

I had a right sweat on tackling the obstacles, but it was great fun and I was surprised how quickly it helped me to settle down and get the slow flying and hovering back on track, thanks for the company guys.

Looking forward to learning the comms side and being with a flight of Apaches on Ops is a great carrot to keep working hard.

Stay safe and healthy and see you on Thursday evening if anyone is free ...

Hi, I have started a new map on the Caucuses, very early doors, and will start with just a range area. This will be south of Kobiliti on a disused runway. The intention is to use this to practice gunnery with multiple ships and from behind cover. This is an area we need to work on to become more effective in killing the enemy. I hope to have this ready for the weekend and certainly for next Monday. Neal

Had a great time trying out the new map with you and Shaggy, you have done a brilliant job.

Enjoyed seeing how the buddy lasing and ripple fire with Hellfires works and it is pretty devastating for the enemy.

Shaggy thanks so much for your time and passing on the knowledge you have, this makes the hours of video watching and cockpit sessions worthwhile and it all makes good sense, looking forward to help getting 664 up and running.

See you tonight .....

Thanks Karl, the updated map gives 2 additional range areas, one with JTAC and the other 3 additional Battle points for dealing with patrolling enemy; all benign. Hopefully see you on there to run through some more practice sessions.
