Intro - Steve Taylor(Pinedd)

Post by Pinedd »

Hi All,

Ex RAF Radio tech, now IT support. Been flying flight sims since the early days. Have flown and landed a few civilian single engine planes, but I am no pilot. Really enjoying DCS mainly F/A-18 and AV8B. Struggling with the apache.
I am looking to get into the online community of like minded folks to hopefully take my DCS skills to the next level, be nice to hover correctly in the harrier and maybe get the tanking sussed.... in any frame! - find that really hard.

Say hi if you are clicking by

Steve

Hi Steve welcome to RAF AIR, you have come to the right place!!

We have just started our Apache 664 SQN which myself and Wee Neal run. We would be more than happy to help bring you up to speed. We have a fantastic training map that covers everything from the basics to the advanced.

Of course RAF AIR is not a one SQN exclusive group so you can always join and jump in where you want but we do need new members for 664. Hopefully see you on the servers soon and any questions, just give me a shout.

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the mad house.

Guys, Steve has expressed an interest in the F18 but also needs help with install of SRS etc. Could I please ask for a rep from CAW-892 and 41 to make contact with him and tell him what each sqn is about etc and take him on an initial flight.

Cheers

Hi Steve, welcome.

892 Squadron with in the Carrier Air Wing flies F/A-18C Hornet, the carrier air wing(CAW) consists of 892NAS and 11(F), of which the latter flies the F-14 tomcat. We usually fly Tuesdays and Thursday at 1930 UK time.
We do most of our arranging of missions/flights on Discord. Feel free to jump on and say hi! https://discord.gg/ZdZTVq5A

I should be around during the weekend if you need some help to set up SRS and/or just have a flight. I will send you a PM.

Thanks All for the welcome

A massive thank you Boos who helped with the setting up of the comms, which was not without its issues.

Intro flight completed in windy conditions, a first for me

Great fun, and a very different feeling with a real person along side you

Steve
