Happy to be here

Post by RAF0738 »

Hi all,

I'm happy to be here.

I returned to the flight sim hobby about four years ago after, initially with X-Plane 11 and then MSFS 2020. I have always had an interest in military aviation, which led me to investigate whether Lock On: Modern Air Combat was "still a thing", which in turn led me to DCS. I have had DCS since returning to the hobby and have purchased a number of modules but never full immersed myself in it so am here to learn and participate more fully.

I am also a former RAFV(R) officer having served with Air Cadet Organisation.

I look forward to speaking to many of you in the future.

Welcome aboard!

What aircraft are you wanting to fly so that I can point you in the right direction?

We currently have squadrons for:

A10C
F-14
F-16
F/A-18 (two squadrons 41F are OCU based and tackle their training as per the correct RAF procedures from land bases but is more intense, 892NAS are carrier based and less commitment)
Harrier
Apache/Gazelle

There will shortly be an F-15E squadron as well based on the new RAZBAM module.

Hi RAF0738,

Welcome to RAF Air. I'm sure you would have been sent a link to the RAF Air Discord, follow the instructions and sign up for a squadron as Cav said.
The website isn't used much anymore for communication.

There's nothing better than flying in a squadron for immersing yourself in to the flight sim.

Cheers
Andrew
