Boos,
I'm fit to fly this mission. Paul hasn't asked me to lead, but I planned to put a FP together.
Just had a quick look at the miz. You have allowed us 19mins from T/O to TOT. In my opinion, it cannot be done with the A-10CII.
I've calculated where the closest armour is at 0646hrs TOT. Even at 290 G/S, against the wind, we would be nearly 2 mins late.
Assuming you want us the hit the targets whilst on the move, in the trees, would it be possible to let us T/O at 0621hrs local?

Don't worry Geoff, I've no problem with you planning and leading this mission.

Sounds good to me Geoff, should be fine.

Boos,
Thanks, 97Sqn will T/O now at 0621hrs, not 0627hrs local.

Geoff, I've taken a quick look at your plan. The only observation I would make is that you have 2 WPs labelled as "CROSS Rd". This could be confusing. I also try to keep my WP names at less than 6-7 characters to avoid truncation in the HUD.

My second point is that you have not loaded A-A missiles on one ac. For the minimal weight they add, I would always carry them, unless we know that there is no possibility of any Red-Air. I know you hold different views, but please make sure my ac has AIMs.

Finally, there is also a minimal saving in weight by replacing dumb-rockets with APKWs. I accept they are more expensive, but I don't pay the bill, and they do give you an option of engaging a gun from 5 nm, without ever coming within gun-range

Alan,
WP names changed
Dumb rockets removed, and 42 laser M151s added to all aircraft.
All aircraft now have 2*AIM 9Ms.
Thanks for the comments.

Boos,
Still working on the 97Sqn miz. I hope to post the final before midnight tonight.

One question. 97Sqn primary targets are the convoys moving South. We have four pilots. As a secondary target, do you want to task us with hitting the 2 speedboats, ZSUs, command post, and single Shilka at the port to the north west?

For 1(F), 3(F) & 41Sqn,
For info, the image below shows the 97Sqn Area of Operations. We will be operating between 100ft and 9000ft.

If Boos wants us to attack the port and armaments to the North, we will be operating further North, and under Siapan extended centre line.

Geoff, you can have those north west targets as secondary objective. Convoy is the main course but feel free if you have the time & resources.

Boos,
Noted. I'll add secondary WPs for the port and AAA.

It's going to be a challenge when the convoys scatter into the trees. If they get to the A'field, then it will be a turkey shoot.

Boos,
Putting my brief together, I notice your FRAG frequency for Anderson AFB is 360.1

It should be 250.10. That's what 97 will be using for start-up, taxi, and inbound.
