Re: Return to normal Tuesday joint missions
Sadly you cannot as far as I have been able to work out, it only let's me place 4 AC regardless of where they start on the ship.

cant be done at the mo with the exsiting flat tops, hence the new carriers will have the ability to have aircraft in hanger on lifts and on deck and cats i think i read someplace that they will have the ability to cary 10 kites in total. i could be wrong thou.Flyco wrote: ↑06 Apr 2020, 07:31 Not sure how Jack, but it would help if we could.
If anyone does know, definitively, of any way of putting more than 4 ac on one of the existing Carriers, please let me know. Ideally, do it yourself, confirm it works, and, only then, let me know in detail rather than guess.

The F-14 cannot launch from the Carl Vinson. Why not add two Stennis with alternate Radio frequency?

A salute to those who are designing missions, and upgrading the hardware and software for each of us to enjoy. Much appreciated.

At the moment, it looks as though Op Northern Clout might just be ready - unless anyone has another contender.
I have attached a background brief. This is a development of an earlier mission (last flown about 15 months ago) in which the A-10s were protected by F-18s, and the Harriers were used for SEAD, using Sidearms. You will see that I have replaced the SEAD with F-18/Harm, and added F-14s for extra CAP, and used the Harrier and the F-16 for strikes on the Red fighter bases.
To balance the extra CAP and airfield strikes, I have added many more red fighter threats - perhaps too many!
The 2 airfield strikes are fairly routine and largely 'stand-alone', although a lack of testing means that I am not sure how much hassle they will get from the Red fighters (32 in all comprising L-39s, Mig-21s, Mig-29s and Su-33s - all staged and modified by blue AD losses. The F-18 SEAD is also a bit improbable, but should be straight-forward.
I will brief, but it will probably be an overall verbal, rather than a comprehensive written one. I would ask each ac type Sqn Cdr to sort out personnel for the tasks and assign experienced leaders.
Sorry, got to go, lots more testing to do!

Alan thanks for this great work, however the F14s cant launch from the Carl Vinson. You will need to substitute a Stennis model in in its place with a differing TACAN and radio frequency. Unless of course you have done that and its just the brief thats in error!
