Tonight's mission will be a re-run of Op Northern Clout.

Pre-flight briefing - 19:30 hrs Alpha.

Take off - 20:00 hrs Alpha.

It is our intention to publish mission schedules at least a month in advance of the mission being flown in order that more accurate assessment of attendance can be determined. It will also enable planners to co-ordinate closely with Squadron staff officers and create more tailored and relevant mission tasking. Would all pilots notify their Squadron staff officers of their attendance plans via your squadron forum threads.

Please note missions may be recorded and published, including voice track. If you wish to make a recording, please make the mission commander aware prior to joining the server. All pilots should assume their comments may reach a wider audience, and act accordingly.

This mission will become set in stone at 1200A on Sun 10 May.

At present it involved:

Up to 8 A-10Cs with the usual hardware
Up to 8 F-14s on CAP
Up to 4 F-18s on SEAD with LTP, HARM. GBU-12s and Mav-F.
Up to 6 F-16s on LL airfield attack with Snake-eyes.
Up to 6 AV-8Bs on LL airfield attack with Snake-eyes.

Minor changes to load-outs may be made by flt cdrs on the night, subject to flights being able to carry out their assigned task.

This will be the land-based version.

Full initial briefing will start at 0730 and complete by 0745, in time for flt cdrs to give their flt briefs.

I presume we are sticking with the same version of SRS as was used last week.

The leading zero indicates 24 hr clock format, so definitely 0730. That is mission time of course, not really sparrow's fart o'clock.

See there's where the confusion came in. I am fully aware of the 24hr clock, but our briefings are at 1930. 0730 is the time in the mission, but that doesn't relate to the time folk turn up to fly and I didn't want folk getting confused and turning up at Sparrows fart, 12 hours early lol.

Simply incompetence on my part, I am afraid. Briefing will be at 1930 BST.
