Re: Tuesday 2nd June 2020
At present, the Harpoon is totally non-effective, as witnessed by the raft of posts about this on the ED Forum. Out of around 20 I have fired at the Red carrier group in practice for this mission, all have been shot down well short of their target.
It is too late to redo tomorrow's mission with a different weapon/attack profile. So the F-18s are certainly not in line for any medals. Mind you it is very character building running in from 50 nm at 500 kias and 70 ft!!
I have also been unable to find out how to retain the Harpoon profile, once the first has fired. Re-entering those at the above quoted 500kias/70ft really does concentrate the senses. I have sought help on this problem from the ED Forum, but if anyone thinks they know what I am doing wrong please do pipe up.
