After Action Report ( 11Sqdn )

After much faffing around and playing musical Catapults, 8 x F14's managed to get airborne and en route to our WP's, the new request launch while dark had us all playing with our Nav Lights / NW Nacelle etc trying to get the deck crew to call us forward and then releasing us, we'll have that nailed down hopefully before the next mission.

We had all but reached our related CAP points and had just enough time to get ourselves in order when the first pair of Mig 29's appeared from the North having departed Bassel al Assad and on route to CAP 1, these were quickly taken care of by UZI 1 & 2, shortly thereafter a pair of Mig 21's got airborne from Khalkalla heading for CAP 3 these too were dispatched quickly by 892 F18 CAP ?
We then had a 4 ship Mig 29's from Palmyra on route to CAP 2 which were engaged by UZI 3 & 4, from then on it was a constant engagement from all 3 Redair bases until finally Air Superiority was attained. This was passed to all air assets with a reply from 97Sqdn, this then allowed them to run amok which they duly did.

It was then time for 11 Sqdn's secondary task at RAYAK Airbase, UZI 7 was the lead a/c with a bomb loadout, first tgt was the engineers attempting to repair their SA8, they were dealt with a MK20 Rockeye Cluster which left all but two units destroyed, UZI 7 then ran in for runway denial with 8 x Mk82's all of which ran down the runway on target, UZI 3 pounded the remaining tgt's with Zuni rockets, with all tgts destroyed it was RTB

3 F14's respawned

14 Migs 29's / 21's were taken down

Mission success,
A fun mission and enjoyed by all.
