Hi Andrew,

Could you confirm the server un-pause time please?

The FRAG says 20:00 but Ade's brief says 19:40.

Hopefully its nearer 20:00 as some of my lads will struggle for 19:40

Hi Danny
Yes it will be closer to 8. Or when everyone that's coming is there.

There certainly looked like there was plenty of action!
It was great to see such a turnout.

This mission will help iron some things out and there's lots to learn from it. With that in mind I would like feedback in how we improve the big group mission.

Points so far:
  • Add a Take off time to the Frag
  • The Departure plan was handy setting out parking areas, keep that going
  • Communication is the key in the mission and needs to be improved
  • F16 Red air could be problematic and maybe stick to Russian Reds for now?
  • Alan would like more stuff shooting at him!
This was the first run of the mission and I suggest we run it again with tweaks here and there until it runs smoothly.
Remember everyone, be polite but please add your feedback below.

I thought the parking locations and map helped greatly, The server was very laggy until we took off, I think I saw a post on the DCS forums that stated there was an issue with the hangars causing lag at that airfield, so that may have been the issue.
I think 1F made it very close to TOT but we had no Tackview to confirm.
As for the F16 enemy aircraft I am gutted, I had one locked but didn't take the shot, I had no way of confirming if it was friendly or enemy so tried to bug out, he was enemy and caught me up, A big thank you to whoever took him out he was all over my ass for 5 minutes of vector thrusting and turning.
I realy enjoyed the mission, thank you

Nice one Simon. I'm glad you had a good night.
Well done for getting close to your TOT. I'll put a link to an almost complete tacview tomorrow.

11 Sqdn After Action Report.

Certainly a few tweaks needed :)

Tacview was Interesting.

A couple points -
SRS host server to change settings so distance does not effect the signal strength. Comms , Nice to hear 251 being used but some of those convo's were just too long, when all and sundry are waiting / trying to transmit onto one freq made it virtually unreadable. Makes freq 251 useless at times. Also trying to talk to my other elements was a no - no most of the time.
[21:40]
Maybe never mix the same Red Air in the same vicinity as Blue Air unless their is clear objectives set as to who takes priority to deal with the Red Air
[21:41]
Not sure if there was to much going on and the cloud density cause the rubberbanding. Maybe host server needed rebooting before missions

I think we could have done with a Sqdn Cmdr O Group prior to Mission Start.

The Carrier was too far south for us to be able to make the distance quickly enough to get on CAP prior to any other Sqdn getting airborne, the first wave of REDAIR was engaged by the F16's at the same time as we were above them, needless to say it turned into something resembling a cluster $%$".

The Red F16's are not a problem on their own but when mixed with Blue F16's that does become something of a problem for us, especially if the Blue are engaging.

REDAIR was well into our AO and south of our CAP locations before we got anywhere near our CAP.

I'm not sure we actually fulfilled our mission ie, To support the ground attack, most of us were taken out within minutes .

So a few talking points as there always is BUT we enjoyed the mission as we always do.

On my part I probably should have asked to move the Carrier group and or , for this mission we could have used a land base which would have had us in the air before most of the other Sqdns had finished their startup procedures.
