This will be the second part of Ellac, operation Dengizich.
Incirilk has been knocked out and the Turkish forces have taken a bruising on Cyprus, however with 35,000 troops on the little island and support still on the way from the Turkish mainland, RAF Air still have plenty to do!
(I'm on holiday until the 18th and will post more then).

Re: 24/08/21 Operation Dengizich
3 weeks since operation Ellac….
British and Greek Cypriot forces have pulled back into the Troodos mountains. The Turkish forces are far superior in number but may find it hard going through the mountains.
Cyprus has a large amount of outdated weaponry but in the last few days’ intelligence reports that modern systems from Russia are being delivered by air and sea. These mainly seem to be modern air defence units such as the Tunguska.
The Port of Gemikonagi has been resurrected, a temporary floating pontoon jetty has been created and heavier Russian equipment and fuel is being unloaded.
UNFICYP, the UN peace keeping forces have stepped aside and could do nothing but watch as the Turkish forces pushed through the green line.
The NATO alliance is under extreme threat, the sudden switch in allegiance by Turkey has sowed confusion. NATO does not look ready to respond to another war.
The UK and Greek forces have formed an alliance and plan to hold the Turkish forces back in the Troodos mountains.
Turkey has raised objections in the UN regarding the attack on Incirlik and has said that further attacks would be considered an act of all-out war. Britain and Greece have demanded the withdrawal of Turkish troops and the halt of Russian hardware being deployed.
Unfortunately, this Tuesday, it looks like the stakes will be raised in this very unfortunate game of wits.
RAF Air
We have been instructed to damage key infrastructure facilities in southern Turkey while keeping casualties to a minimum. A hydro-electric power station has been identified as a suitable target.
Turkish forces need to be slowed through the Troodos mountains, blocking roads and hitting HQ’s.
The Air bridge of C-130s bringing advanced Russian weaponry must be halted, hitting the runway at Pinarbashi and taking out any aircraft.
The Pontoon jetty at Gemikonagi must be destroyed to halt further Russian equipment coming ashore, Tankers must not be hit and cause an environmental catastrophe.

Re: 24/08/21 Operation Dengizich
Please see attached miz with squadron flights added. Please check you are happy with how they have been added.
Target points should all have been set at 000 AGL, but worth a double check.
Unfortunately 41F will not be all be to make it because of holiday's etc. 3F, Sapper would you be able to drop anything on the Hydro electric power station?
Neil, 892 NAS, I am still awaiting your waypoints.
I suggest that we run this as a slightly cutdown version, we can iron out any problems and then run again the following week at full capacity.

Re: 24/08/21 Operation Dengizich
1(F) Target destroyed, it would seem the enemy SAM's heard about our SEAD strike and up'd and ran, so no SAM's seen but good effect of the dock (Tanker still intact as FRAG'd)
So as far as we are concerned our target was destroyed successfully.

Re: 24/08/21 Operation Dengizich
Lovely photo FC.
It looks like last night was hit by a Dcs bug and the opposition failed to show. We have had this before earlier on in the year and a patch sorted it out.
Provisionally we will re-run next week if it can be fixed. I'm pretty sure that the problem lies with DCS rather than the mission, however I shall transfer units to a clean map and then test again, volunteers needed to see if there are any targets.

Great photo of the Tomcats but that flight deck really does need cutting!
