Dengizich 3 (the last offering)

Hopefully all of the crinkles have been sorted out.

11F, there will be more Red Air, faulty trigger found and has now been rectified.
1F, FARP Perth is now available, to test STOL capabilities. Fully functioning with POL and ammo. This is optional. You are still set up at Akrotiri.
3F , (x4)New target, insurgent training camp.
97, reduced the Igla count. extended the convoy start.

Weather has changed a little, giving a more broken cloud. Base is similar but there will be more windows to see through.

Within reason I will be happy to change anything.

I have attached the INTEL map with last weeks flights, please alter and return as you see fit by Sunday evening.

Cheers
Andrew

Andrew, the 97 route looks OK. I have just modified the T/O times to align with the FRAG: Pontiac-1 roll at 1857, Pontiac-2 (if they fly) 40 secs later.

Our TOTs are approx 1906 on the SA-8 Target, and 1907 on the Camp-1 Target. TOTs on the remaining targets will depend on circumstances.

I have not cleared this with the boss, but I don't believe there will be any significant changes.

Sorry Alan, I somehow missed your updated Miz. I hope the flight went OK for you and 97. I see Richard and Paul were one of the last to land.

I hope you all had a good mission last night and it ran correctly for you all. There will not be a new mission next week (I'm sure something can be run if wanted), on the 21st September there will be a new mission based back on the Caucus map. Miz distributed in the usual way.

Again, a bit of an unsatisfactory mission from the A-10s point of view. We lost 2 ac: one flew outside the immediate tgt area and fell to a Tunguska, and one flew over an Igla at 2000 ft and paid the price. We killed a fair few targets, but the whole thing was messy - not helped by my microphone switching itself off at random intervals (my faulty set-up, I am afraid).

Once more the first convoy had passed through the target area by the time we arrived and proved impossible to identify among all the blue forces that were surrounding, but ignoring, it. A few of the infantry in the open, fell to CBUs and guns, but were too scattered to be satisfying targets. On the other hand most of the rest of the assigned targets took significant loss.

We saw an occasional Mig-29 on RWR, but never close enough to be a major worry. The main threat were the 2 Igla, which proved very time consuming to identify and knock out - in the end we only got one but fortunately they were a lot less sharp this time around. Overall of the main targets we were allocated we took out: the Camp; the AFV group; about 50% of the vehicles in the 3 convoys; and a sizeable number of the infantry.

Despite the above results, as I said, I found it rather unsatisfying. Total flight time around 1:35.
