The revised miz has been posted on the 97Sqn board. Just waiting for approval from Paul, or Alan. Watch this space.

Hi FC,

PSA 3(F) revised miz.

As we have moved, I have moved both our WP's and our tanker support.

Apologies for the delay, I was under the impression nothing had changed but the operating base, so had planned Wp's as they were.

1(F), 97 and 892 we will be listening out on Overlord 251.00 if you need assistance. If you could check in when airborne that would be great.

1(F) we will escort you to your targets.

Ok Danny, I had already tweaked the positions for you but I will take a look at your miz and tweak to suit.

New waypoints added.

Hi everyone, Human Awacs debrief from me.

Enjoyed myself trying to keep everyone alive tonight and for the most part was fairly successful.

Couple of notes though for Human Awacs for all flights involved. Please please don't ask me about whether sams or ground targets are still active etc or ask for ground targets to be engaged once your done with your tasking. It gets very hectic for just one person trying to keep an eye on all the enemy bandits incoming on our flights and that needs to be my priority. I know game master mode allows me to see ground targets but even if I wanted to help out I really don't have time as the second i start looking around the map for ground targets one of our allied flights gets shot down. The reality is also Awacs can only advise flights of enemy aircraft anyhow. I'm not having a moan just letting you all know I can't do both air and ground live recon! Haha

Second would be please make sure one of your radios is tuned to my frequency, I was calling out a couple of guys today trying to keep you alive but it became apparent you were not on comms to hear me and got shot down, I may have been able to keep you alive if you had your radio tuned in as there wasn't much cross chatter tonight.

Good points are Cap all did a great job when asked, so much so some of the cap flights may have got a little bored as everything red got slotted fairly quickly!

Also CAP and others comms was for the most part to the point and clear for all. Apologies if I didn't get your flight numbers right all the time but generally if I wasn't sure I just called out your name at same time.

Thanks everyone very enjoyable :-)

Thanks for running the AWACs Duke. Its always a better experience with a human AWACs.

Overall I think the mission was enjoyable and the objectives were met. There was a great deal of weird teleporting aircraft and lag but I guess thats just DCS.

All in all better than last week I think!

Thanks FC and Duke.
It's great to see so many on and have a good night's flying. But it's always interesting whether it goes well or not.

Well DCS twickery and general faffing around aside, the mission intent was met. to that end 2 F14's out of 6 made it back.

Duke did a great job as HUMAWACS , it always adds that little bit extra to the mission.

Good Job Cav

I led this mission. Paul & Alan’s primary role, Flight 1, was to destroy the Chihu bridge, and the road convoy. Myself, Flight 2, would take down Abasha bridge, and most of Senaki facilities. Richard, Flight 3, all on his own, departed to the East as SEAD.

“Flexibility is the key to Air Power”, is an old saying. We had to be flexible for most of this flight.

Jumping in the server, one had issues with the included mod. E-mails changed hands, and the situation resolved. I had the same issues again with my VHF radio button on SRS, so we switched to using FM as our common frequency. I’ve bought a new throttle.

Contact was made with 3F on 262.0 as we started up at Kobuleti.

As lead, I was flying as a singleton, Flight Two. I let Flight One taxi and line up first. I won’t do that again.

That’s the first time I’ve seen “Mutley”. Very impressive. RIP.

All took off on briefed times. Airborne, we switched to 251, and called Overlord. Duke responded, and we changed to 251.5.

T/O to bridge strikes was only 11mins. Paul reported that an SA6 could affect his transit to TGT, and he may have to orbit. I advised Duke that Chihu bridge TOT may be delayed and the SA-10 train could get through. During his IP to TGT run, Black Witch dispatched the troublesome SA6. Thank you.

Both bridges were destroyed well before the FRAG times of 0449hrs. That made life easier for me as I didn’t have to worry about the SA-10 delivery to Senaki, or the road convoy to Kobuleti.

Flight 1 started looking for the road convoy heading to Senaki. I turned south, preparing to attack Senaki airfield. Richard was still transiting East.

To our surprise, a message came through that the SA-10 train was en-route to Senaki station. Plans changed immediately. I cancelled my attack on the airfield, and set up close to the rail station, waiting for the SA-10 convoy to spawn. Flight 1’s secondary role was supporting strikes at the airfield, so Alan suggested he go to the airfield. I agreed, and updated Overlord.

I searched the road to the airfield, looking for the SA-10 convoy from 13000ft. Decided to call Paul, and asked him to search for the SA-10, after finishing off his road convoy. To cut a long story short, all 3 of us could not find the travelling SA-10. I asked Paul to check Chihu bridge again. He reported the bridge was down, and trains were queuing to cross.

The same happened last week. Looking at TacView, there were 4 unsuspecting soldiers standing on Chihu bridge. They were killed with the 2000lb bomb, so I cannot understand why FC’s trigger didn’t work as expected.

Meanwhile Richard reported his primary SA-10 SEAD had been disabled. Uzi could now recover safely. Overlord updated. Soon after, Richard lost his aircraft. I am at a loss to explain, after looking at TacView. For the rest of the mission, Richard jumped into another Hawg, and watched events unfold.

Attacks continued at Senaki Airfield. I believe we destroyed all the ZSU’s, artillery, and SA-13s. The Red Command Post was a challenge to take down. Paul (that’s why he’s the Boss) had re-armed with a 2000lb penetrating JDAM. That worked a treat. I then, surprisingly, spotted the SA-10 convoy arriving at the airfield. Together, it was dispatched, before becoming operational. Apologies to Duke for asking had all the ground targets been destroyed at Senaki.

Recovery was not as planned. A Mig29 had appeared on RWR, and 3 of us landed as singletons. No sign of the MiG on TacView.

Thank you FC for putting the re-run together. For me it was a real challenge. Leading this mission, I did lots of preparation. I would not have been able to cope without all the planning.
