Operation Badgers Strike - 15/02/22

Post by Matt »

Situation
Insurgents have taken control of the small settlement of Kvahvreli west of Gori in the Khashuri gap, Badger squadron of the Royal Tank Regiment are preparing to assault the town to free it from insurgent occupation.

The 95th Tank Brigade are suspected to be in the area, it consists of 20x T-55 main battle tanks, this is the insurgents main tank company if they assist in the battle it is believed that the insurgents will be fighting to the last man, if you engage the 95th you are to completely knock them out of the battle.

You are to assist Badger squadron by destroying the enemy artillery site and forward recce screen to aid their advance, after they begin their assault you are to assist as possible. 1 troop will provide intimate support for a troop of Warrior IFV's assaulting the town. Meanwhile 2 troop Badger squadron will prove an FSG south of Kvahvreli looking north.

This is a civilian town so only precision munitions are permitted in the area surrounding the town however in a BDA will assess 0% of civilian or structural damage you are permitted to use any weapon at your disposal.

Air defences have been spotted moving in and around Gori.

Taskings
1(F) Squadron you are to recce potential crossing and FUP locations for Badger squadron for further operations in the ops boxes allocated to you, command are looking for recommendations for at least two crossing sites and one form up point (FUP) capable of holding the armoured squadron group

3(F) Squadron, you will be providing CAP for the main AO, we anticipate insurgents trying to bring CAS aircraft from the north once the ground offensive has begun, therefore you will be providing a CAP in the designated area north of the AO to ensure no red air units penetrate our area of operations.

41(f) Squadron, you will be conducting a strike on a known enemy headquarters location once you have planned your route we are looking for a TOT of 08:50 Local to coordinate with the Challengers leaving their FUP.

60 Squadron, 60 Squadron is to provide 1-2 Medevac pilots to support the ground offensive and move casualties for the frontline to the RAP behind the FUP.

97 Squadron are to provide initial strikes on to known artillery sites located to the north (GRID 38T MM 32607 47878) and south (GRID 38T MM 36720 57726) of the river running through the AO, from there you are to provide close air support to Badger squadron liaising with Panzer 21C on 31.000FM via the ECAS cards. (ECAS cards will be distributed to Paul via PM)

CAW, the Carrier Air Wing will be conducting a diversionary strike at Gudauta airbase to split any enemy reinforces for converging solely on the AO, they will be operating as a single entity from the USS Teddy Roosevelt and will be controlled by their nominated air boss. your strike is go in at the given TOT to draw attention away from our main assault.

Depends how you decide to split your pilots to be fair, CAW (11 and 892) are working independently from the remainder of RAFAIR on this operation

Matt, Mission looks interesting, are you implementing the IADS that was used recently? is there any Intel on the type of SAM's at Gudauta?

Cheers
