21st June

Post by 0405 Andrew »

Dear RAF Air,

Unfortunately I have not had the time to write a new mission for the 21st July. We can run an old one or just give it a miss and I will get one sorted for the 28th.

If you would like an old one run, please let me know and I'll dig it out and get it set up and sent out for planning.

Sorry about this, time and the summer has caught up with me.

Cheers
Andrew

No worries Andrew, I am sure some more Squadron based training wouldn't go amiss.

Agreed. We will only ever thank you for what you do Andrew. We will never criticise you for what you don’t do.

I can’t recall the name but there was a mission on the Syria map where we all (well many of us) flew low level along the Euphrates River until splitting off to our respective Sqn targets. That was fun and well worth doing again.

Deep Strike. That was a good one. That was with Chris. We ran it twice once where everyone got shot down because someone flew too high and unleashed the hordes, then it was run again and it went well.
We can run that again, I'll dig out the miz.

Here's the last time we re-ran it.
Quite apt as it seems Chris may be back on board, lets hope re-running it doesn't send him over the edge so early in his re-enlisting.

And thanks Sapper for those kind words and It's great that we can run an old one as it will give me a bit of time to develop Raid on Tartus. Which I hope this will be a more joined up affair, a little like Deep Strike.

Andrew,
A few questions.

I'm confused with timings. What is the TOT for the RV point? I see local time at mission start is 04:30hrs. The only timing I can see is "Strike Package Zero Hr+30". What is Zero Hr?

What is the minimum height for the river run? On one brief it says 500ft or below. On the miz it refers to 200ft or below.

There is a shilka and ZSU within range of both our targets. Haven't seen them whilst testing, but if they appear on the night, we will have to orbit well clear, whilst I climb to 3000ft and attack with Mavs. Carrying Mavs will affect my weapon loadout against the targets.

Hi Geoff
I'll have a look. I've not done anything since it was run the last time.
I'll get back to you tomorrow.
Cheers Andrew
